The project aims to alleviate the flooding problem of villages at Ma Tin Tsuen, Shui Pin Wai, Mai Po Lo Wai and Mai Po San Tsuen of Yuen Long.
The project commenced in 2002 and is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2004. The major construction works comprises a flood protection embankment and wall, floodwater storage pond, a flood water pumping station and drains within the villages of Mai Po Lo Wai and Mai Po San Tsuen, roads for maintenance access with associated drains and the associated landscaping works.
