The project aims at alleviating the flooding problems in Chow Tin Tsuen, Lei Uk, Fung Wong Wu and Ping Che Road around Ping Yuen River, and around the Mo Fan Heung areas. The project commenced in 2003 and anticipated to be completed by the end of 2005. The scope of the project comprises the construction of drainage channel of about 2.1 kilometers long at Ping Yuen River and Mo Fan Heung stream and the associated works, re-provision of border road, security fencing and surveillance facilities and construction of access roads and footpaths for connection between the flood protection drainage channel and the public road ⁄ access.
